Energy Management Courses

The energy management courses offer opening to energy use and efficiency. The technical courses are aimed at energy professionals to manage energy within their job function and with a responsibility for improving energy efficiency and reducing energy costs. National productivity council (NPC), New Delhi has projected demand of approximately 16000 skilled and trained energy auditors and energy managers for the coming 5 years. It has created a significant demand of trained manpower of energy auditors and energy managers.

Management development institute (MDI) school of energy management - Gurgaon offers a post graduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) energy management with specialization in power distribution recognized by AICTE, New Delhi, Govt. of India
Eligibility requirements’: a three years bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the association of Indian university /A.I.C.T.E. - New Delhi is eligible for post graduate studies in management. Experience of minimum of 10 years of post qualification executive work experience in the power sector. Age : not more than 45 years.
Admission process: the selection of candidates is based on an entrance test followed by group discussion and personal interview.

M.Tech (energy management) - regular mode of 4 semesters (2 years) duration. Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech./ M.Sc. (physics) or equivalent engineering association examination with minimum 55% marks.
M.Tech (energy manage-ment) - distance education mode of duration 6 semesters (3 years) contact hours (2 weeks) per semesterEligibility:B.E./B.Tech./ engineering associations equivalent degree/M.Sc. (physics, electronics, agriculture, instrumentation, mathematics & energy, environmental science/ management, post graduation diploma in energy management, physical chemistry) with minimum 55% marks. Engineers and managers from industries, nodal agencies, state electricity boards, power generating companies, consultancy organization, regulating bodies, teachers of engineering and polytechnic colleges etc are also eligible to apply for above courses.

Post-graduate diploma in energy management: (PGDENM)is offered by centre for distance education of the university of Hyderabad. This is on non-residential basis at the university campus, Hyderabad. In some cases, the outstation students are given accommodation in the university campus on a nominal charge as per rules of the university.
